MEDICARE INFORMATION

Could You Spot Identity Theft?

Identity theft can happen to anyone, and recognizing the warning signs early can help prevent financial and medical fraud.

Red flags include:

  • Unexplained bank withdrawals
  • Bills for services you didn't receive
  • Missing mail
  • Denied medical claims
  • Unfamiliar debts
  • Accounts you don't recognize.

If you suspect you or a loved one has been a victim of identity theft, report financial identity theft to the Federal Trade Commission and contact your local Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) for help with medical identity theft.
