All facilities and programs of Community Action in Aroostook, Washington and Hancock Counties will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Regular business hours will resume on Monday, July 6.

HIGHLIGHTS THE AROOSTOOK BACKPACK PROJECT AND BACK-TO-SCHOOL BASH & WE'RE TALKING TO A NEW CAAWHC BOARD MEMBER ON THIS WEEK'S "COMMUNITY IN ACTION" WEEKLY RADIO SEGMENT

The Aroostook Backpack Project and Back-to-School Bash are the subjects of this month's Community in Action Feature Interview program. Theresa Dow, Program Coordinator for Prevention and Wellness at Community Action in Aroostook, Washington and Hancock Counties (CAAWHC), and Sarah Duncan, Executive Director of United Way of Aroostook join CAAWHC CEO Jason Parent to talk about the two programs that collect and distribute school supplies throughout Aroostook County to help prepare students for a successful upcoming school year.

“Community in Action” is our weekly informational segment airing every Friday morning on Ellsworth-based Community Radio Station Star 97.7. The most recent episode features John Zavodny newly established board member of Community Action in Aroostook, Washington, and Hancock Counties. John is also the President of Maine Seacoast Mission.
