Maine Mobile BIOLAB offers free hands-on STEM event in Machias on Aug. 20

Youth ages 10 to 14 are invited to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics firsthand aboard the Maine Mobile BIOLAB on Thursday, August 20 at the University of Maine at Machias, 116 O’Brien Avenue. The free, interactive event will run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Onboard educators will guide participants through hands-on STEM activities, engineering design challenges and collaborative problem-solving using research-grade equipment, augmented reality and game-based learning tools.

The Maine Mobile BIOLAB is operated by the nonprofit organization Educate Maine in partnership with Learning Undefeated. The traveling laboratory brings cross-curricular bioscience experiences to students across the state, offering access to advanced technologies not typically available in standard classrooms.

Space is limited to 24 participants, and advance registration is required. Attendees can register on the website to secure a spot.
